How to Get There
Chinon is located in the heart of the Loire Valley, about one hour southwest of Tours.
The town is easily reached by train, car, or air, with good connections from Paris and other major French cities.
The nearest airports are Tours Val de Loire, Poitiers–Biard, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
How to Get There from Berlin
The most convenient route is to fly to Paris and continue by train or rental car:

Fly Berlin (BER) → Paris (CDG or ORY) – about 1 hour 45 minutes.

Take the TGV train from Paris Montparnasse to Tours or Saint-Pierre-des-Corps (around 1 hour).

From there, transfer to the TER regional train to Chinon (approx. 50 minutes).
Total travel time: around 5–6 hours.
Car rentals are available in Tours, and the drive to Chinon takes about one hour through beautiful Loire Valley countryside.
If you prefer to drive
Driving from Berlin to Chinon takes roughly 12–13 hours (about 1,250 km).
The route follows A2 → A1 (Germany) and A10 (France) via Le Mans → Tours → Chinon. It’s a pleasant road trip if you’d like to explore the French countryside and Loire châteaux along the way. Free parking is available throughout Chinon, and most hotels and Airbnbs offer on-site or nearby spaces.
